Don Bosco :Don Bosco, popularly called the “Friend of Youth” founded the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, commonly known as Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, on 5th August 1872 at Mornese, Italy. The purpose was to elevate the life of the marginalized young girls through an integral education in its various aspects.

Mary Domenica Mazzarello : The Cofoundress, a wise choice of Don Bosco with apt qualities to lead a nascent Congregation. Her greatest contribution was to translate the spirit of Don Bosco into the feminine style adapting to the psychology and the needs of the young girls. Salesain Sisters of Don Bosco witnessed a miraculous growth right from the start sailing overseas and establishing flourshing Mission Centres. Today the dynamic presence of about 14000 sisters covers all the 5 continents.
